As the title says, I'm looking for recommendations for getting an ST Gel Seat re done. The cover has 2 "almost tears" in it - the outer surface is damaged but not all the way through yet, so repair might be an option

I used a fella up near portsoy last winter to re-cover one of my bike seats (he was advertising on Ebay). He used too many staples, and it didn't last long, unfortunately.

As it's currently being held together with several lengths of Duck tape, I'll need to get it re-done. I'm toying with the idea of just getting an electric stapler and doing it myself.

I used these (http://www.motorbikeseats.com/) folk to make up a seat for me.
they can just recover I think as well and the make a first class job. There is a waiting list but better giving them a call to discuss.

Give Crawford Hunter a call - he has an upholstery business on the Ladysmill Retail Site in Falkirk - he does a lot of seat cover work for Jim Allen - 01324 629142

Theres a company between Wishaw and Motherwell (near Argos) called Beltane Products http://www.beltaneproducts.co.uk/
Sisters put her VW camper seats in for work, it's a company run by social work to help people with disabilities.
If it's local, it may be worth dropping in and seing what they could offer (dont think they're too bad price wise).
