Meant to measure it before I went to work but have forgot...

Can someone tell me what size of socket I need to remove the rear hub nut on my 99 748S?

Cheers
Stu

It's either a 41mm or 42mm, I'm swaying more towards 42mm

Its a 41mm as Ive just had to buy another! I assume you mean sprocket side nut? The wheel side is 46mm I think. Also make sure you have a decent breaker bar as I have just snapped my long Halfords one!

Aye... that's right 41mm for the sprocket side and 46mm for the spindle/wheel side.

You broke a breaker bar???

Yup! That @@@@@@@ nut was very tight and is still in place! Bar snapped/fell apart where it goes into socket. I'm strong me you know!

I use a 46mm, on the big nut that holds the rear wheel in, don't buy it on Ebay far to expensive! Better going to one of the vans that go round the garages or try a motor factors. They may have to order it. I needed a 3/4 to 1/2 inch converter as well as they don't make them with a 1/2 inch drive, so I was told!:comp2:
