Having an interest in 4 wheels as much as 2 I have built a kit car (badly) and always hankered after a Lotus/Caterham/Westfield but despite being as practical as a bike I quite fancy one of these.
Expensive for a car with no bodywork but a tenth of the price of other cars giving almost as good performance.:)

I see this guy all the time, whenever I'm driving my CSL (M3) on the Isle of Man I give him a run for his money and it goes along way, usually for about 2 hours or so we wind him up. Especially when it rains as I do doenuts around parliment square while he's drying his hair!!!
Its only an Atom Bomb, nought special........

Need time to check, but I think it was in the wet and the CSL had those 'cut slicks' on... Won't exactly be its fastest lap now will it?
Anyway Freak you should know just how quick a CSL is in proper hands, I shall only remind you of Oulton Park with a few mutual friends!!!!!

LOL..... yeah with them running slicks and have done numerous car TD's before  and that being my first ever car day in a car I'd only had a month, the cars more than capable it's me trying to feel the thing out.
It was fun, but nowhere near as much fun as rattling round there on a bike

Stating the obvious, it is immaterial whether anyone blows off someone else on the road (or track) in a car or bike to then use that as justification for one vehicle being faster or slower than another.
I remember "blowing away" a Ferrari Testarossa in a 1600 Cavalier down Loch Ness side. Now I knew the road and he didn't, I suspect, and I am probably a better car driver than he was.
The Top Gear stats are again variable depending on the weather (and no 2 cars will have identical performance) but at least it is the same driver which gives the figures some credence to a point.
I like that style of vehicle because they are fun and you can relate to 2 wheels and it is fast by any standard you use and performance per pound hard to beat.
I also like Elise/Exige for the same reason.

You need to confirm if 'the stig' is 1 man or a different group of racing drivers? I heard from a reliable source that the stig drivers varied dependant on which driver was available?
