Ever thought about having a mini version of some of the amazing race bikes around sat on the mantlepiece.
Some of you may know that I have a small thing going 'on the side' of commission building scale models. Some of you may have seen (and some of you have passed comment - some scarcy) the thread I started about the Messerschmitt model I was commissioned to build.
Well if any of you are are interested in one of these models and doesn't want to be bothered with the hassle of building it or the cheap chinese stuff, I would be happy to oblige. Not mentioning any manufacturers names, here are a few examples.....

...just a thought.

So how many man hours are in a decent build Ed, do you add extra detailed parts etc ?

I once bought a large scale v-dub beetle and performed a proper sectioned roof chop etc and I know it took ALOT of time, never did finish it and ended up throwing at the wall in a true teenage rage !

...depends on the model and the requirements of the customer, the 109 was relatively easy because it was to be flying (i.e no flaps, undercarriage, open cockpit etc) and the finishing was paramount, with bikes, it's all about refining what is already there, as other than exhaust pipe discolouration there's very little to 'weather'. Tamiya produce some great kits but they continue to use vinyl tubing for brake lines etc. which is vastly over scale and looks rubbish so I replace these with wire of the correct scale size, I add wheel weights, scrub in slicks if need be. etc. etc.
For some reason my modelling website isn't working at the mo but I've attached some images of added detail on aircraft.....

As far as man hours are concerned, a 1/12 Ducati model would be about 50 hours. This is an estimate only mind.

but I can't seem to get it to work at the moment.
