....remember this track?

I'm in love with a German Filmstar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HN9cCCxErpw)I was at the height of my testosterone rush in '81 and was into this kind of music. The Passions.

Remember also the Buggles 'Plastic Age', Gabriel's 'Games without Frontiers' brings back some great memories.
Do these tracks or simular ones from the Electronic genre bring back memories for anyone else.

...oh I dunno, like it or not, that song is a very well known track and Trevor Horn is one of the most successful faces in the music industry. :)

My wife & I had a debate recently about which was the worst decade for music during our lifetimes; and after many beers  a bottle of wine, much looking at youtube, the winner was......

The 80's

Big hair, big make up, big shoulder pads and that was just the men

Rock music had a real bad patch i.e. any band with spandex wearing members

From that era - Joy Division, Scritti Politti, A Certain Ratio , if you haven't been to see it yet make the effort to go see Control, not sure the story is super accurate and is seen from Deborah Curtis perspective but the way Anton Corbijn shot it is just like his NME stuff from the late 70's and the choice of supplementary music spot on, Bowie, Eno, Kraftwerk.

Didn't think anyone else here was old enough to remember Mr Webb from the early days! Perhaps the dividing line was before and after he found "enlightenment" in his life?
My worst ever record has to be Middle of the Road and "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep". Banal lyrics, sung in a screech and no dress sense.

I was always a fan of Joy Division and all the early New Order stuff too, Kids stop me getting out anywhere these days but I'll look out for it on DVD perhaps.

its worth going to the cinema Dave, fascinating to people watch as groups come in one of whom is the fan and they've dragged wife/gf, friends along to see it. At the end everyone sits to watch the credits and track listings cos there's always one track you know but can't recall what it is.

dexys were a fantastic soul band . the live sound was even better than the records and the records were miles above anything else then or now.......................then kevin rowlands ditches three quarters of the band and goes on an irish kick.

its only the class of when my light turns green, geno and dance stance, that prevented me from murdering him
