Must seriously recommend the roads up the North West coast and along the top, the scenery is outstanding, twisty roads but lots of open stretches. Swooping around left right up down catching glimpses of the Atlantic. It's a different world, well worth the trip - weather permitting obviously!

I can only second that. Had Gizmo, Linzi, Lily and Jon up a wee whiley ago to stay. We went the other way from here, over the Struie, up to Altnaharra, then Tongue, Durness and onto Ullapool. Amazing weather we had there. The riding got a bit... err ... interesting towards the end (see attached image of tomfoolery) , but biking heaven that it is alright........!!!

Spookily, it gets a mention in Bike magazine too as a favourite road.
Lochalsh to Oolpool
Keep it quiet though, don't want it getting too crowded.

Couldn't agree more.
Took a group of friends up there last May, hit the good weather, completely blew them away.
Stayed in the Tongue Hotel (very good) & went west to Durness then south to Port Appin. Some went across Skye then Mallaig ferry which was actually the shortest route. I had some machine issues on my old Bee Emm so stuck to the mainland but still had a brilliant day.
Pierhouse Hotel Port Appin utterly fab.

Yep, I agree 100% (including watching out the sheep :D)
The Haggis Hunt (http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/forum/showthread.php?13893-multistrada.net-Haggis-Hunt-Tour) tour is heading this way. Quite a few southerners coming up and I don't think they are going to believe that roads like that, coupled with such scenery exist in the UK!

I'm staying at the Pier House on 29 April. Thermidor-tastic.
On the roads front, Ullapool area is indeed fantastic. I remember going from there on a route that took me down past Gareloch and it was stunning. :D

Completely agree! - I'm fortunate enough to travel this road - and some other crackers - every couple of weeks for work. In the better weather when62086209 I can take the bike it makes going to work a lot less painful:)
