It's a sort of down-market version of the Miami Vice car!

It depends upon when in MV, the original car was a corvette modified to look like a 365 spyder GTS with a body kit, a fake which Ferrari asked the TV company to stop using. Ferrari then supplied a testarossa but thats not as classy as a 365 as an original 365 spyder is one of the nicest ever Ferrari's .
The original Quattro was one of the iconic motors of the early eighties, first UK cars were left hand drive only ( first one I drove was LHD) amazing performance at the time and the body shape hardly altered because it was so well liked, I did prefer the body on shorter wheel base S1 but these are now very rare, an original Quattro Sport even rarer :)

My brother had a white one and he's a DCI in the Met, just like Gene! And he's a Manc, just like Gene! He's a bit old school too, but not as old school as Gene, but he wishes he was!
I've been looking for one for a while now, but some of the older ones are silly money. You can get the later, more curvy Quattro Coupes for less than £2k. Hmmm.

You sure it is the full blown Quattro at that money?
Audi made two versions which they differentiated by a small and a large Q in the car description.
The Quattro came originally as Michael says in LHD form only (about 84 from memory?) but then introduced in rhd.
The cars were 10 valve until the last run out model which has the 20 valve head from about 1990.
Torsen diff was introduced during the 10V production run.
Getting rusty on classic cars these days so could be a year out on the above.
Mate has had a 10v since 1990 and value dropped to about £7k but now climbing again.

What ever the case, I thought the show was brilliant, the cast brilliant and that Audi, classic.
I know it's in a different league, but I owned an '84 Audi 80Sport for a time a while back, Mk1 Golf GTI motor in the front but fitted as all motors should be: longituditally, handled brilliantly like a RWD car and went well too! Loved it's old skool square looks. Love the Quattro sports better though.
But then, as some of you may know, I changed my chosen marque to another German Sportscar manufacturer and the rest is history!!!!! :) ;)

Not too clued up on the big Q & little q difference, but I've seen "2.8 Quattro Coupe" listed at about £2k, a very brief search threw up the folowing article:

Audi produced various quattro models in the 80's and 90's. The coupes were visually at a casual glance similar to the "ur quattro" and there was a healthy market for body kits to add to the standard car to give it the flared arches etc.
The original Quattro was a hand built car and was hugely expensive 20 odd years ago.
I drove my mates car from Newcastle where he bought it North. After 50 miles my shoulders were aching with manhandling the thing through corners.
To get the best out of them I would think you have to really "drive" them rather than sit in it as a "passenger".
More info here. http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=10065
Interesting they say Audi preferred the "small q", whereas the dealers here referred to them as the "Big Q" if you made an enquiry!
