Nice route, I know it well, but it's a 'crosser you need for the bit between Slig and Portree because the road is so bl@@dy rough!!

I'm up for this!!! :p

I would be very distracted by the Cullin view, so we will have to do it when the Misty Isle is living up to it's name... :)

Thanks guys, now I'm homesick!!

I lived in a wee village called Digg that nestles below the Quiraing for 20 years when I was a kid. Same old story though, you don't realise how good you had it till you move away. :(
My folks still live in Portree though so I'll have to get my ass back on the bike and get up there if they've redone the roads. That bit around the top will still be bumpy single track though, as well as covered in sheep, not to mention the high-speed local nutters (I know - I was one once!!!).

A great place to take the bikes and have a ball though - definitely recommended.

Spare a thought for poor me, when I was a kid, it was an old Honda CB900 (for the youngsters - a prehistoric air cooled thing from '81, certainly not a fireblade!) that I used to wrestle around those very roads in the pics at warp speed (I was young and exuberant back then). Plus I only weighed 10 stone at the time which made it all the more hard work to get the old girl round the corners!

Ah sweet memories!!........ticky valves, rattling cam chains and chocolate camshafts!! Servicing wasn't high on my list of priorities back then....mind you, neither were tyres, chains or brake pads!! I just got on the thing and rode it till she broke (which she did ...........repeatedly).
Then I got a brand new RGV250 in'89 and couldn't believe that two wheels could go round corners so fast.....awesome. Memory lane is not on any Sat Nav but it's a nice place to visit sometimes :)
