Excellent! :lol2: :lol2:

"I like having email that automatically says 'sent from a macbook wheel' - that way people know you have one".

I don't fancy it at all. It seems a cumbersome way to type and the on-screen keyboard display uses half the screen. I'll wait until I see one before condemning it though.

so it takes two key strokes to enter a letter?

did the guy say "you can get access to anything on your computer with just a few hundred clicks"?

and the punter spent 45 minutes composing an email to his friend?

and that predictive text/sentence construction thingy - WTF?

you would have prolly thought the same about typing words with 10 numerical digits, but we do it all the time now (texting)

Its time to move on, although I did think voice to text would be the next big thing...

But texting is fundamentally different to PC/Mac laptop word processing stuff. Like Derek, I would need to see it and try it before being convinced, just doesn't seem sensible really. Buy one and I'll evaluate it for you. Can't you get voice recognition software now anyway?

Plus he says it has battery technology which will keep it fully powered for 20 minutes? Not very handy really - if it took that punter who "will buy anything shiny that's made by Apple" 45 minutes to compose an email to his friend. Unless they really are taking the pi$$?

Still, if it looks like a very big ipod, who cares?

Yes but it generally only recognises standard English (US) accents. The likes of you and me and quite a few others on this forum would be scuppered Pete. :D
Ever had to talk to one of those voice recognition telephone answering lines?

But what you have to realise and soon or later accept is that the art of communication is changing rapidly, "text speak" is no longer a secret code that kids use but an almost recognised language and Apple are obviously aware of this, 45 minutes to type an email in "Queens English" would take a fraction of that time if you leave out vowells and punctuation and where possible, entire words, the sentiment is still the same just a little harder for us learned folk to get used to.

you can get voice recognition software, i used to train people how to use some different types in my last job, the trouble with it is it takes a while for the program to get used to your voice and accent as you have to train it by reading books to it & it isnt 100% accurate.

After numerous complaints about 'gullible' word being persistently misspelled, Collins decided to remove it from the 2009 Edition Dictionary in favour of more modern alternatives such as 'dupe(d)' and 'sucker'
