Couldn't agree more. Things function pretty well on their own normally.
Unfortunately that doesn't take into account the idiocy factor. After all you know what they say about rules.

Just joined today....could someone point me to the for sale forum.

Just kidding.I've seen this argument in other forums where someone joins just to sell something.Usually find they've been lurking a long time anyway. Also seen people who have been a member for years and never posted. There's no real solution where everyone is happy in the end.

    Cheers

    Welcome to DuN.

Another MHR I see. We seem to have quite a few of these now in the forum and SDC.
    Piccie always welcome.

Are you planning selling it then?

I've seen an array of different methods used to try and reduced 1st posts in ForSale sections, one is to prevent posting in ForSale until the user has been registered for a time span (a week or two) easy to do in Vbulletin, not so with other forum software.

I guess I must be getting more 'mellow' with age as I dont really mind now as long as the adverts are polite and hopefully relevant.

As an aside, I've only posted my ST4s forsale here & in one other forum so far, as these are the forums I've had long associations with and feel that I should post a bike on first.

    Keep up the good work

    Cheers - Frank
