i'm sticking this on for my brother in law who builds bikes and writes for street fighters..
basicly,

zx6r modified subframe, shortened and recovered seat

yam bluespot rear caliper
7x17 rear wheel
gixer thou rearsets on adaptor plates
one off underseat stainless exhaust with scorpion can
one off billet engine covers
aluminium crankcase breather tank
r6 shock

bike is a daily runner, use it to ride to work, just done the TT on it , it won best streetfighter at the NEC , starts first time ,

looking for 3.5K and a bike in PX, something worth about 1.5K (a large capacity 4 cylinder something), i'll happily take 5K cash but moneys tight all round

Not my cup of tea, I think it's ugly, a mish mash of bits thrown together with little consideration for aesthetics.
Therein less the problem with streetfighters, unlike production bikes which are built to please the bulk of the buying public these are bikes modified to be pleasing to the eye of the owner/builder. I can always appreciate the effort and work gone into specials but there are nicer looking gsxr cradle frame specials out there.

If you paid someone to modify a bike to turn into this would cost a fortune.
Time spent getting the various components to actually work on the bike must have been huge.
I would have thought £5k was cheap for something this different.
Performance must be scary as well if you cane it. Looks like a wolf in wolf's clothing!

Has it tried a standing quarter? Would be curious to see what it recorded if you could keep the front wheel down long enough.

Power curve is pretty linear. Thought it might have gone up vertically but quite progressive. Impressed.

Apparently? Wulfie, (who I bought the bike from), had disagreements too, perhaps he caused offence by having pipes that were 'too broon'? ;-)
See now, your response is diplomatic, something I've never truly mastered, I still call a public convenience hygiene officer a shithouse cleaner.

Regarding the angry retort, I'm going to respond once, in as full a manner as possible so as not to turn this 'for sale' thread into an ongoing argument.

Clearly I have no idea what these guys do? You say.
Almost exclusively, the riding friends I've met and grown up with have veered over to streetfighters and modified bikes.
One friend in particular has built more specials and modified more bikes than I care to think about.
He has recently finished a turbo bike which he built up from a wreck in the corner of a workshop and is now using it as an advertising piece as well as transport. He has just finished another, (3rd incarnation of the same bike), which he is going to be selling.
He is getting ready to strip his long term regular bike for a complete redo/modification/overhaul for the 4th or possibly 5th time, much of which he made bespoke parts for himself.
Once he has completed that his next project on the board is a complete ground up build from scratch he designed some years ago.
He does custom airbrush artwork, (successfully), has had several of his machines featured in streetfighters magazine and has been a regular article writer and contributor himself.

So, yes, as it happens, I am VERY aware of the design/thought/manufacture/costs/effort that go into these machines. It does not mean however, I have to like the look of the finished product!
Bear in mind, by it's very definition, bespoke means 'made to suit the buyer/builder/owner'
Therefore, my comments aren't negative, (Definitely no more so than criticising a seller because his pipes are 'a bit broon!') they are

a,my own opinions, (I don't like it, I think the parts look mismatched and there are cradle frame gsxr specials I think look nicer) and

b, fact, (specials are indeed built to suit one persons idea rather than to appeal to a mass market).
As you said yourself, it's a free speech forum, if my comments are not relevant here neither are all the ones saying 'wow, that's great!' Though you don't appear to be telling them the same. Certain political regimes have had a similar approach, 'we believe in freedom of speech as long as it's what we want to hear, if not we'll demand you're gagged'.
If you can't take the nay's with the I's then invoke gizmos rule and have none of the comments so far. You can't have it both ways!

I shan't post on this thread again, as it has already detracted from the original purpose, I merely wanted to clarify my comments, if anyone wishes further discussion please do so by pm and I'll be happy to discuss or argue points.
