Default Do i have to travel to glasgow ?!!!!!

Okay!, I know this has probably been done to death, but here we go again!

I'm moving up to Aberdeen soon and own a 999. I know that Ducati in Glasgow are the dogs ******ks, but does anyone know anywhere closer who are any good, as I'm incredibly lazy and can't be arse'd riding to Glasgow each time for a service!

I've heard a lot of horror stories with Shirlaws servicing Ducati's !!

I've also heard there may be a dealership opening in Dyce. Whats the news on that???

    Thanks all

As has been said, welcome aboard. Just come doon to glasgow when you need a service, we dont bite( unless you ask!) just think of it as a good ride out with a drink at the end.

Shirlaws are not a Ducati dealer !

They were at one time but not for some considerable time.

I notice that the duplicate thread has been deleted as I had put up a post yesterday that covered most of the above.
Your information about a new dealer in Dyce is I suspect quite a bit out of date.
There WAS going to be a dealer and service centre but sadly just before the official opening due to tragic circumstances the plug was pulled on it.
However Dean Morrice who was heading up the new dealership has started on his own as Albamoto as mentioned above.
Dean is a good guy and I would happily put my bike to him.
Shirlaws have not been a Ducati dealer for some time now (which was one reason for Dean planning to open in Dyce) and I am not sure if they have any trained Ducati mechanics left now.
Never argue with an idiot..onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.

There is still one Ducati trained spannerman at Shirlaws, however Albamoto is another option as Stu mentions.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread as my 900 ie will soon be needing a service, I live in Dundee and would much prefer a run up the coast road to Aberdeen than the motorway to Glasgow. I'll be looking to have belts changed, valves checked/adjusted as well as oil/filter change and having the rest of the bike checked over. So, to the point, It seems the owner of Albamoto is regarded as a decent guy but has anybody on the forum had work done on their Ducati by Albamoto ?
