    Default Code 11.2 on a 999

Good afternoon guys , 2003 999 has a code 11.2 vertical coil shorted to earth all the wiring and connector look good would it be a bad coil and would it make sense to swap the horizontal coil and see if the code changes to a 10.2??
are there any troubleshooting charts available ,,is this a known problem??? thank you

this is a hard code and will not clear

Coils failing are fairly common of these models, usually the front cylinder because it gets all the shit from the road thrown at it. Swapping them round would confirm that the fault is with the coil and not the wiring. The windings are probably breaking down internally.

First sign of an EOBD problem like this I change the fuel pump/injector/coil relay. A very cheap part to replace (1.90 off eBay)

You will find the relay behind the battery box heat shield, below the starter relay.

Whilst you're in there, move it up to the top left of the battery box (no more a pain to get at ). There is even a square rubber holder to push it in to. Make sure you grease the relay connectors up with di-electric grease.

Update cked wiring from coil to ecu using an ohm meter cking for continuity to ground all wires cked good ,replaced the ecu with a upgraded replacement to go with the exhaust system installed no light no codes

Question not having the link or software will the TPS need to be set at the dealer ?

Chris still waiting on the relay but did move it to upper corner
