    Default Ducati 749 engine

    is the 749 engine the same as the 748? what are the service intervals for the 749? was it the 848 that became more normal with longer service intervals?

    thanks

    No, it's not the same engine. The 748 is a Desmoquattro engine whereas the 749 is a Testastretta engine. The cylinder heads are completely different with the Testastretta heads being easier to work on.
    Service intervals for the 749 are;
    Oil Service, air filter and valve check : 6,000 miles
    Belts and fuel filter : 12,000 miles

    Not much different from the 748.

    Old enough to know better, young enough not to care
