    Exclamation 2019 Agenda

With the AGM now less than a fortnight away should members not have some information about the where, when and the agenda? I know there was a brief mention in the last newsletter a month ago but many members don't receive it.
Also what about proxy/email voting for those who can't attend?
The lack of information especially when new committee members are required is disturbing!

Sorry for the delay in replying, in fact I would probably posted a similar thread to Derek's if he hadnt beaten me to it asking the same questions if it hadnt been for being involved in a car accident yesterday evening.

I am very confused by whats going on though.

The email newsletter states Bob is standing for Vice president.

The constitution states the VP is also the treasurer.

The email for the voting states Bob is standing for Secretary, leaving the Treasurer/VP role unfilled at this moment in time.

The email vote says Committee role #4 will be Jenny Irvine. Who is this can we have some more info about who we are voting for at the AGM or online if not able to attend please?
    BUT,
the google form for voting seems to require only a vote for Douglas as President but not Bob as secretary, and it requires email input twice, and also for the treasurer vote it has 'suggestions' and 'other' eh?
Also the votes have yes, no and other. what is the 'other' option for?

    The club constitution states
Five office bearers (President, Vice-President/Treasurer, Secretary, Events Co-ordinator & Member without portfolio) should stand for re-election at each annual general meeting (AGM).

if there is going to be a change to this then it also needs voted on by the members at the AGM.

And, if the treasurer position isnt filled, how can the club function? The first 2 roles required are President and VP/Treasurer............ then secretary.

And finally, the club accounts should be audited yearly and presented to members at the AGM for transparency. has this been done?

I have been a bit busy today so wasn't able to fully read and take in the emails with the agenda and the online voting but Robbie is quite correct on all points and these questions need answered.

And who is Jenny Irvine I don't want to see a repeat of the situation last year where we were expected to vote for a nominee who wasn't there, who we knew nothing about and, as far as I'm concerned hasn't been seen since.

Cannot even get on SDC Facebook page after being thrown off in the middle of 2018 by a grumpy Admin

My email and PM's from the forum appear not to be working aswell

Thought i would just join in in washing the dirty linen in public
I think Douglas will have to sort out the AGM stuff as its not Quite correct

Sorry its not up to everyones exacting standards

    Bob,
It's not the case of being to everyone's 'exact standards'. Its the case that correct info should be sent out to members.
Also we need to know the accounts as I believe there are issues.
Washing dirty laundry has been brought on by a complete collapse in communication throughout the year.
A club survives on communication and meets and it's been shambolic to say the least.
I will not be at the AGM which will be s good thing as I would have numerous questions to ask, but I am sure others will raise the same issues.
I wish the club well but its going Pete Tong unfortunately.
Hopefully see you all at the fling and masher but there needs a complete rethink or revamp

Very pleased to receive a copy of the AGM agenda in my email today. It covers most of the points that it should but no mention of the minutes from last year's AGM nor matters arising.

Despite a rather low turnout yesterday's AGM went quite positively and it was good to see Sue and Jenny, a new young member who is keen to help, join the committee. Let's hope that this year works out better than last for the club.

Its hard for "The Hunter" to type in English & spell correctly so great effort.

See you all at the Highland Fling & the Midger Masher.
