Default Gearshift pivot bolt (037069530) 888/900SS/etc

Popped into work this morning on the 888 to give it a bit of a shakedown, and to my surprise, the gearshift pivot bolt (037069530) dropped out en-route somewhere, leaving the foot control inoperable.

I don't recall the last time I had to remove that, so must have worked loose over a period of time.

Looks like that part number is no longer available - does anyone happen to know if the later models have a compatible part number, or indeed, does anyone have a spare?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I don't know if this will be much help Mike. The pivot bolt for the '92-'97 900SSS is listed as 8211056A, so it is either different (length?) or the part number was superseded.
    Pivot bolt 82111701A is used on a plethora of Ducatis - 749/999, 998, 800SSie, 1000SSie, M620, S2R, S4R, MTS1000/1100, MTS1200, ST3/4. The length of the shoulder may be different though. I don't have dimensions off hand.

Thanks Derek - I've just been out to the bike, and popped the brake pedal off, and secured the gearshift with that bolt, which fits just fine, so at least I'll be able to get home without being stuck in third, albeit sacrificing the rear brake (which isn't really any significant inconvenience)

I'll do some more research over coming days to figure out a solution - I'd much prefer an original part, so might find a temporary solution in the interim.

Just checking and it's the same part no. (037069530) on my 907ie.
If you look at the 92-97 900SS/SL on Stein Dinse you will see that 037069530 has been replaced by 8211056A and is shown as available but if you try to order it, it comes up with "product not found" It should still be available from Ducati dealers though with that later part no.

I'm sure that's the right bolt Frank but it's pretty pricey and in a horrible shade of oxidised black. I wouldn't want it on my bike unless there was absolutely nothing else and I'm sure Mike won't either.

Yes, indeed, but just last year my OCD compelled me to find a company in Livingston that are able to re-plate/yellow-passivate bolts to the right shade of yellow.

That said - I think I've managed to locate the parts on Stein Dinse. I'll try ordering and see what happens!

To close this off - the ordered part (8211056A) was exactly right - thanks Derek.

Yes, they were the ones that did some yellow passivating for me last year. Very friendly, very fast. I've got another wee thing that I might need them to do, so will likely be heading back there soon.
