    Default New owner in Wakefield

Hi everyone. I’ve just bought a mate’s ST4s, and brought it from Austria. I particularly wanted it, cos it’s got Ohlins front forks.
Having a bit of difficulty with DVLA now, I am told that I need a letter of type approval as part of the registration process.
Ducati can’t help. I’ve emailed Ducati Leeds asking for their input.
I’d have thought that, because the bike was registered previously in another EU country and has moved in free circulation within the EU - I should be able to register away without hindrance.
Certainly, HM Customs were happy to let it in freely. No VAT, or other issues.
Has anyone else done a personal import from another EU Country?

Sorry I can't help you. I have heard of other folk being required to supply a Certificate of Conformity for DVLA registration and believe that Ducati UK should be able to supply it, failing that Ducati Italy. Their customer service is usually quite good.

Ok thanks. I’ll try talking to DVLA again. The explanatory notes mention a cert of conformity several times- but they don’t mention how the hell you get one!

I think you’re talking to the wrong Steve! I don’t recognise any of the content of your reply.
