Very sad indeed. Michael was the person who started Ducati UpNorth, to cater for those Ducatisti in Scotland and the North of England.

Very sad to read this today, very humbled about how brave but difficult a decision this must be to make and carry through for all parties involved. It's been a tough 6 years for Michael with some crazy battles with his own body and also the weather, but he has been an inspiration to many with his determination to get out and about in his adapted 'bike'.
Respect to both Michael and Linzi, I will be raising a glass to you tonight.

Heartbreaking news for a man whose strength of character I cant begin to imagine.

Shamefully, I lost contact with Mike and Linzi (and all my other Ducati friends) a few years ago.

For some reason I logged into Facebook yesterday for the first time in many months and Mikes utterly moving post was there waiting for me.

Such a courageous decision by a brave, brave man, who strove to make the best of a desperately difficult situation.

    Ride on, Gizmo.

Michael passed away on Saturday afternoon in a peaceful and dignified manner at home as he wished.

    Default RIP Gizmo

Don't know why I stumbled across Ducati Up North tonight for the first time in ages.
Read this post and feel gutted.
I still remember the trip to Oban, the Raid the Lakes and the wheelie school.
    Lovely bloke.
    RIP Gizmo

Would the committee be willing to make a donation from club funds on members behalf?

Great idea Robbie. The club can well afford to and although many of the current members may not have heard of Gizmo, his work in setting up Ducati Up North and helping to get communication between Ducatisti in Scotland played a big part in helping Scott Charles start the Scottish Ducati Club.
