    Default 999s

    Hi,
I'm a relatively new member and looking for some help with my 999s its a 2006. Seems a bit clunky starting, have a new battery fitted and it comes up with code P0120 only sometimes, I know this code is the TPS but it only appears intermittently any help or pointers would be most welcome. Sorry can't seem to attach video?
    Regards Eamon

Could be a faulty TPS or connection. Does the dash not show EFI error and either 1.1 (TPS disconnected) or 1.2 (TPS shorted to ground)?

I have a 999s since 2005, Only recently was a bad connection inside the petrol tank found to be causing starting issues but had also contributed to stalling incidences on the move as well as less than smooth running at times. I'm on the coast and the salt air probably doesn't help, but Years of asking for it to be looked into at service time paid no dividends. I found a mechanic who knew his stuff who tracked this down partly because he had raced one and had the same problem. Along the way I was trying it daily and getting all sorts of error codes coming up. BUt a wiring fault or short may just disable the whole? Heard of same trouble in newer Ducatis too. Diavel for one.

No faults on the dash other than the usual service indicator. I have dug in and now have the ECU in my hand. Some corrosion on a few of the pins, not sure if this corrosion can get inside, if it does its an ECU next step.

The ecu is screwed to the backplate which doubles as a heatsink. Corrosion can get in between them leading to earthing issues. Worth a look maybe?
