    I've trawled through all the links on this thread and haven't found a link which has a service manual or parts manual for a Monster 796. Does anyone know where else I might find one? Would a Monster 696 one do for everything other than the engine?

    For most things yes. Apart from the swinging arm the cycle parts are mainly the same and apart from the capacity the engines are physically the same. It would certainly be better than no manual.

    Bugger! The 696 manual was an owners manual not a workshop manual Oh well back to the drawing board - or Ebay at a tenner. Goes against the grain though
