Default Up the middle of the Lakes !

Although I say depart Cafe Zest, I say that because it is an easy meeting for point and refuel coffee stop !

Please be aware that this route will be busy at most times during Summer, best avoided on Public Holidays unless just having a bimble !

Depart Café Zest heading towards Ambleside/Keswick on A591

Stay on A591 and go through Ambleside towards Keswick, past Rydal Water on your left then on through Grasmere, past Thirlmere

and turn right onto B5322 St John in the Vale. Follow this road for about 4 miles (40mph limit) until it meets the A66 (good regroup
    point).

Turn right onto A66 towards Penrith (patrolled by camera vans and unmarked cars), go over M6/J40 roundabout heading for Scotch Corner, at the next roundabout on edge of Penrith (1/2 mile) upon reaching this roundabout you have a couple of options, A686 Alston / Hartside or A6 Kendal, both these routes have their own thread elswhere in the forum.

On this ride we are going to head for A6 Kendal.

Follow A6 for about 14 miles through Shap village and turn left
towards M6/J39, at the top of the hill turn right onto B6261 towards Orton

    (watch for sheep)

when you get into Orton, keep right and join B6260 Tebay,
this road is some blind crests and dips, continue into Old Tebay just before
the roundabout there's a services, regroup here.

Turn right out of services and then left onto A685 at the roundabout heading
    toward Kirkby Stephen.

Follow this road for about 10 miles, up a steep hill, with crawler lane and on the other side of this hill keep watching for A683 Sedbergh. This road is on your right, take this road into Sedbergh (approx 10 miles, twisty, sheep, lots of farm openings), regroup as you enter Sedbergh village. Turn right at mini roundabout, left at next roundabout and then left just after the garage heading in the direction of Kirkby Lonsdale. your destination is Devils Bridge which is at the junction of A683 and A65 on your right. You can't miss Devil's on a Sunday !

From there if heading back to the M'way turn right out of Devils and the A65 will dump you back at M6 Junc 36.

    Enjoy
