I didn't make the comment about the Linotype font Milo although if it was created in 1954 there are ten years of copyright ownership left in it, I was responding to the generic comment on software piracy which does help fund all those other unpleasant pastimes and yes it is theft, there are no shades of grey in that.....

It might be theft, but it can't fund anything unless you pay for it!

This thread is all about fonts... the comment you quoted was in response to a post about a Linotype font being shared by two members. I think Michael was using the word software rather than "digital assets", but it was about a font.

I don't get all misty eyed when I hear about someone downloading an ancient font owned by a huge corporation just like I don't get upset when someone gives me a parking ticket they bought with time left to run. Both are technically offences in the eyes of the law, but as Charles Dickens wrote, the law is sometimes an ass...

Well if you're comfortable with theft and don't get misty eyed about it Milo, that's your choice....it's an interesting stance but it is your prerogative of course. ;-)

I don't see the world in black and white, I see it in shades of grey.

Maybe we should arrest the people who copied music cassettes in the 80s and swapped them in the playground. I hear there may be some spaces free at Guantanamo Bay soon.

Hell NO! - I made great pocket money from doing this back in the 70's! As I remember, enough to afford a ultra hi-tech Sony Walkman - so blame Sony

The links that I originally posted for Ducati graphics are long since gone but here's an update : https://duccutters.com/vectorart.tpl
