    That is good news.
When DB and I came back from Italy in June they had announced that the last sailing was this month but the staff had also been told a new operator had been lined up to take over.
Sounds as if they are going to operate exactly the same routine as previously with 3 sailings per week.
I hope they get enough support to let them continue longterm.
Never argue with an idiot..onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.

    Great news!

Used it this summer and I was impressed with the service - makes the trip back from the continent much more pleasant if you can avoid as much British motorway as possible, and have a drink as well. Will be using the new service next year.

    Default ferry monopoly news

It's all clear now, so that's what alex has been doing , playing with boats, when the big boys have been playing with the banks in the world's biggest game of Monopoly.

hope the ferry is bigger / better and the prices are lower, with the new operator newcastle has always been the best option even although rosyth is only 15mins from me.

Great news that we're getting to keep our "bridge to Europe". I've now used it a few times and it's great to think that the Alps are but an overnight ferry journey and a day's blast away by bike. Now, who's for the Motogiro Race in Sardinia next summer ...?

I think the last operator left because they could make larger profits running another route. A bit like a taxi driver on the open seas........

But it seems to be a just exactly the same times, same fares so nothings changed. probably the same boat........I wonder if its the same secuity staff?

Did you have a problem with security?

Db and I pulled up and the guy looked in the back of the van and said "Oh you have Ducatis?....I used to have an ST4"

Blethered for 5 minutes about bikes and we went on board....couldn't be easier!

I always use Hull-Zeebrugge. Brill overnight ferry with cheesy entertainment and a load of women getting pi**ed on the beer/fag run. Gets in both ways (the ferry I mean) at about 8:30am so a good days riding ahead after a refreshing kip. (well about three hours worth the last time I used it due to some drunk school teachers keeping us entertained). Here's to next June.
