hartsideHartside Cafe on the A686 7 miles east of Penrith (J40 M6) heading towards Alston. The A686 continues to Hexham or take the A689 into Weardale or B6277 into Teesdale. Map

Busy on Saturday's and Sunday's, cafe closes at about 5PM although on sunny days the owner occasionally serves tea/coffee beyond that. Popular meet point mid week on summer evenings.


Devils Bridge - 5 miles east of M6 J36 on junction of A683 and A65. Map Tea/burger van open most days 8 till 5. Gets very busy in summer, don't park on the road, the traffic warden likes to give out tickets!
Attracts Ducati's from Yorkshire, Lancs, Cumbria and the North East . Watch for unmarked police cars and bikes on the A65
