Neil Mason's 851 Restoration Project

"just pics of some of the components that have gone into building up my 851...
the fully finished pic shows the bike as it was finished off last year, in very mild 955 spec with road lights, bigger bore exhaust, std wheels etc
You'll see from the part pics that I managed to get hold of the correct discs for the bike - the wheels came with 998 discs originally which went back as they weren't what had been asked for.
The motor in the bike now is a 916SP, the motor was fully stripped and the cases modded by Baines to accept the rear swinger from the 851.  The motor was then rebuilt with lightened flywheel, slipper clutch, 955 high comp pistons - balanced to crank n rods, gas flowed & re-shaped heads, big valves (37/31mm) with 431 inlet and G exhaust cams.  She'll be running 50mm throttle bodies with a 5 bar regulator and I'll see how she goes before deciding whether to go with 54mm bodies or not.  A termi spaghetti system will help her breathe.
Harris Yokes, 996 clutch & brake levers, mag wheels with brembo 4 pad calipers and a full floater brembo at the rear (with carbon torque reaction tube), carbon mudguard, huggerand under hugger, carbon sprocket cover....
Decked out with an alloy race subframe, carbon oil breather box that takes up all of the space in the subframe, carbon air intake assembly, 1 piece carbon airbox, carbon venturi's, carbon dash with race instruments, carbon body panels and tank she should look a stunner when completed.
